I visit the Egyptair office in the Bahti Meskerem mall to have a last confirmation of the departure time. Don't want to be to late at the airport. I had a great time in Eritrea, but the three weeks are enough.
Check in Saturday at 1:00 at night for take off at 4:00 in the morning.
I want to buy a few souvenirs at the post office, but is closed for lunch of the staff. I decide to wait and have a drink at Bar Posta. A picture of one or more of the waitresses would make a nice souvenir as well.
I ask if I can make a picture of the beautiful painting on the wall, of an Eritrean girl carrying a sheep. It is okay. After a little whining is is okay to picture the girls as well.
I heart a lot of complaints that it is very difficult to picture Eritrean women, but I think the mistake made by the photographer is that he / or she is to much focused on the picture. First focus on the girls as a human being, friends.
Talk to them, ask them their names, tell them yours, where you are from. Tell them they are beautiful, buy them a coke and confess you are so sad to have to return to your country without their pictures. You might even to ask their PO Box to send them a copy (and keep your promise).
In the Post Office I buy some more souvenirs. The postal service of Eritrea issued a series of stamps on the occasion of Eritrea's 20th Independence Day.
I check the shops for more souvenirs and gifts to take back home.
