Asmara Eritrea - October 21st 2003
Early in the morning I make a long walk through Mendefera. Since there is no chance to finish the trip to Adi Quala, I will return to Asmara. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs they suggest I go to the Ministry of Tourism, because I am a tourist. At the Ministry of Tourism they do not understand why I need a permit. They ask me to come back at 11:00, at 15:00 and at 16:00 but no permit.
The guys at the UNMEE headquarters gave me a sound advise: "do NOT visit Adi Quala. It's dangerous, even for us". So I give up.
