Asmara Eritrea - May 31st 2007

 

My program is almost finished and there is three more days to come. Someone needs a good impression of the Cathedral for an art project, so today I will visit the cathedral's premises, and picture it from every direction, from the in and outside, from the top to the bottom, in the morning and the afternoon.

The remainder of the day is for appointments and the last small items of my program.

It is Thursday, and I remember that there is a buffet lunch in the China Star Restaurant. Just to be sure, I call if any reservations is necessary. I am welcome. In the middle of the restaurant is a presentation of various delicious Chinese food. I try a bit of everything.

While eating, the owner of the restaurant, Tekie, joins me at my table. Of course he wants to now if I like it. I do "Tu'um (delicious)". He tells me that a few weeks ago all the passengers of a small cruise ship visited the China Star Restaurant. He asked them how they found the restaurant. "They found it on your web site. So please be my guest today. This lunch is on my account."

Luck with transport, food free of charge. I decide to spend something extra to those in need if I will meet them. You will meet them. There is still a lot of handicapped, and old men or women that lost their family in the war,  A war that caused a lot of missery, and still is threatening. 

I make pictures at the house of Gebrehiwot and Zewdi. I will send them copies when I have returned. I will be a nice present, and memory.
