Asmara Eritrea - June 3rd 2006

 

7:00 In Edaga Arbi to gather with the rest of the family and around 7:30 to the Nda Mariam Orthodox Church. I take off my shoes and follow the family into the church, but unable to get close to the ceremony (it is to crowded), I decide to leave the church after half an hour to find myself some breakfast and wait outside until the ceremony is finished.

After the photo session around the church the feast will continue in and around the Gaglem Hotel next to the road to Mendefera, some 10 kilometers from Asmara.

In the evening there is live music and dance, and suwa, in a large tent at the courtyard of the house in Edaga Arbi.

Nicest memory: I have far more family that known until now. I met a lot of new lovely members of the family tree.
