Asmara Eritrea - May 19 2008

 

The morning program is a firm walk through the Tiravolo district and Space 2001. I brought some letters, medicine and euro's from The Netherlands for the mother of a woman that should be working in the Sembel Hospital, but they have told me that she won't be working for some weeks.

I have no telephone numbers, no address, just the information that their house is in Space 2001. And I have no luck as well. It starts to rain. Two boys show me how to shelter using a public telephone. I will contact the Netherlands and ask the sender to find a solution to this minor problem.

In the evening I have an invitation for a cultural show in Cinema Odeon. My camera is not welcome, so there are no pictures. Fortunately I am early, so I have some time to return my camera, and still back in time to have a good seat and enjoy the show of drame, songs and dance.
